Computers and School

Posted by: christakay on: April 2, 2008

Hi Everyone! One of my assignments for Intro to Computer Programming this semester was to create a website.  This was the first time I’ve ever done this.  How does anyone keep up with technology?  Anyway, we used html and created the basic code.  Next we’ll add Java to make it more intelligent… not sure exactly what that means yet.  Anyway, check out my first website!  Obviously, you’ll be able to see that it was done by an amateur.  I’m still working on the formatting and color issues (there are lots of different codes for colors), that was a little trickier than I thought. Note that some of the gals in my class have worked created websites in the past and it is evident in their work.  :+)Website: http://www.stkate.edu/~ysng/CLASSES/106/Winter08/winter08.htmlClick on Kari K.

Cool website Kari…..I wouldn’t begin to know how to do a web page, I’m lucky to do email, and get on the Prentice blog….I’m impressed with your site….

Thanks Carol. I’m not a computer wizard so I was thrilled that it even worked.

Please tell Shane and Melissa it was good seeing them this weekend. Hope we get a chance to go to Iowa soon.

Very nice Kari. Are you planning on sprucing up the Prentice Family Blog? Looks to me like you’d be the gal to do it! :)

very professional Mrs. Krook! I am so proud of our little Kari! I liked your page about yourself too!! How soon are you done? congratulations on your achievements! You and Nick are sure smart. (so is Kyle and hard working!) do you get that from the Thilges or the Prentices? I know Jean is smart and hard working!!

Christa, I think I got the short end of the stick for intelligence in comparison to some of those doctors/vetrinarians in the family!

Jackie, I’m not sure about updating the Prentice blog. But, I could lead everyone in song now that I just finished Methods in Music…Take your pick of the below songs:
Ready, here we go…

1. Here we are together, together, together. Here we are together just sitting on the floor. There’s Jackie with Christa and Christa with Carol. Here we are together just sitting on the floor.

2. Bumpity, Bumpity Yellow Bus Can you say your name for us?

3. Scottland’s Burning, Scottland’s burning, look out, look out, fire, fire, fire, pour on water, pour on water.

LOL. It makes me laugh considering that I don’t even sing in church. The final for this class was tough because we had to lead our classmates in song by giving the pitch. This doesn’t sound too hard until you have to do it in front of a bunch of people.

My poor friend Marcy, when it was her turn to lead I couldn’t stop laughing and had to leave the room. Poor thing, I’m not sure how she made it through her version of Scottland’s Burning after the scene I caused. Of course I was very apologetic afterwards…

So yeah, let me know when you’re ready for some singing lessons! Maybe I can help someone in our family become the next American Idol.

I thought your page was cool too – they just expect teacher to know EVERYTHING, don’t they??

Kari that is so funny…did your friend beat ya after laughing at her?

Really nice website Kari.

Carol, my friend thought it was funny too! I’m blaming that darned Prentice blood though because I always seem to laugh at the wrong times!

Thanks Mary.

kari, you must take after your mom. i can still remember her getting the giggles at the dinner table. and it was never anything funnny to any one else.
